Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Production Planner to support manufacturing operations by coordinating production schedules, maintaining ERP system accuracy, managing production orders, and ensuring the efficient flow of materials and information throughout the facility. This role serves as a critical link between Operations, Engineering, Quality, Purchasing, Shipping, and Production teams to help achieve on-time delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Production Planning & Scheduling

  • Release and manage production orders based on customer demand, material availability, and production capacity.
  • Monitor production schedules and coordinate priorities to meet delivery commitments.
  • Maintain all top-level production order information, including due dates, status updates, and completion tracking.
  • Expedite production orders as directed by the Operations Manager to address changing business needs.

ERP & Manufacturing Data Management

  • MaintainaccurateERP system data related to production orders, inventory,routings, and scheduling activities.
  • Generate andmaintainproduction reports, inventory reports, and operational metrics.
  • Ensure manufacturing data integrity andtimelysystem updates.

Engineering Change Management

  • Process Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) from a manufacturing perspective.
  • Implement Bill of Material (BOM) revisions andmaintainaccurateproduct structures within the ERP system.
  • Coordinate engineering changes with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Production teams.

Inventory Control & Materials Management

  • Support inventory accuracy through cycle counting and inventory reconciliation activities.
  • Monitor material availability and communicate shortages or risks to production schedules.
  • Assistinmaintaininginventory records and supporting inventory control initiatives.

Quality System Support

  • Maintain quality system documentation, including Non-Conformance Material Reports (NCMRs) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs).
  • Support compliance with quality procedures and documentation requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate production status, schedule changes, and priority updates across departments.
  • Cross-trainand provide support within Shipping, Receiving, and Purchasing functions as needed.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, inventory management, and workflow optimization.

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company policies, procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Maintain organized andaccuraterecords in support of operational and regulatory requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Manufacturing, ora relatedfield preferred. An equivalent combination of education and manufacturing planning experience will be considered.
  • 2+ years of experience in Production Planning, Scheduling, Manufacturing Coordination, Inventory Control, Materials Planning, or Supply Chain.
  • Experience working within an ERP/MRP system in a manufacturing environmentrequired.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Understanding ofproduction scheduling, inventory management, Bills of Material (BOMs), and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience processing engineering changes andmaintainingproduction documentation.
  • Strongproficiencyin Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented witha high levelof accuracy and accountability.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
