Worship Associate

Position Overview: To enthusiastically lead and serve God and His church specifically through assisting the Worship Pastor and Worship Ministry.

Reports directly to: Worship Pastor

Reports indirectly to: Campus Pastor

Job Goal: Prerequisites

  • Ability to meet all minimum eligibility requirements to be a member of Family Church.
  • Affirm the FCN statements of belief and practices as codified in our organizational bylaws and detailed in the Baptist Faith and Message confessional statement of 2000.
  • Maintain a close and healthy walk with the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • Maintain a high standard of excellence and moral character.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize workflow.
  • Professional and positive demeanor.
  • Record of consistent, high-level performance.
  • Excellent organizational skills.

Personal Responsibilities

Ministry Responsibilities

Lead Worship

  • Serve on the platform three weeks per month - one week as the leader and planner of the service and the other week as a member of the worship leader team.
  • Be on another platform of our network once per month leading and planning or as part of the team. This rotation will allow worship leader associates to cover for worship pastors and ministers that might be out on vacation.
  • Planning, scheduling, and executing rehearsal and Sunday morning worship alongside the worship pastor.

Creatively helping to develop and craft worship services

  • Assist in the planning and execution of worship services and all creative elements related to those services.
  • Recruit and assemble teams and communicate with all parties involved in a creative element as assigned by the worship pastor.
  • Organize assigned services on Planning Center.

Responsible for producing the services assigned to you

  • Schedule and shepherd volunteers in the campus Worship Ministry.
  • Create click tracks and custom loops to be used in services.
  • Manage song lyrics and media in ProPresenter.
  • Have devotional ready to share with the team on Wednesday night and Sunday morning.
  • Prepare all rehearsal materials including notebooks, vocal parts, audio files, etc.
  • Lead the 7:00 a.m. tech meeting on Sunday morning.

Fulfill all time requirements expected of the position

  • Lead or help lead worship 4 times per month, including three weeks at a Family Church primary campus and one week at another campus.
  • 15 hours per week total
  • Two hours per week team worship planning.
  • Three hours per week for team meetings (i.e. Staff Chapel and Worship Staff meeting)
  • One hour per week rehearsal preparation.
  • Three hours per week rehearsal time on Wednesday evenings.
  • Six hours per week service worship leadership on Sunday mornings.
  • Songwriting times are optional

Provide leadership in areas assigned by the Worship Pastor, including:

  • New expressions of worship
  • New expressions of artistic elements
  • Screen new songs for relevance and applicability to the related sermon series or service targets
  • Follow up on new recruits for Family Church Worship
  • Attend the campus on the weeks when leading worship at Family Church campus.

Operate and master necessary software, including:

  • ProPresenter
  • Ableton Live
  • Planning Center Online
  • Playback

Other events included in role

  • FC Worship Ministry Nights of Worship (2 per year max)
  • Leadership Rally (2 per year max)
  • Christmas Eve services (December 23 and 24)
  • 7 days of Prayer (2 times per year)
