Job Description
Intelligence Federal is a respected government contractor and seeks a Paralegal with military justice/court experience for an opportunity to support the Office of Military Commissions. This team will support the federal government attorneys with substantial and important work. This is a fully onsite position working in Alexandria, VA. Travel to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba will be required for up to three (3) weeks at a time to assist with court proceedings.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Perform substantive and procedural legal work to support attorneys and staff.
  • Assist attorneys and investigators in preparing for hearings, legal discussions briefings, and meetings on various legal matters.
  • Conduct and assist in factual and legal research for each investigation.
  • Draft legal documents such as correspondence, complaints, and legal briefs.
  • Schedule interviews, hearings, witnesses, depositions, and other related discussions.
  • Investigate claims or potential cases. Review facts and interview witnesses.
  • Perform court reporting and/or other paralegal support duties during trials
  • Other paralegal duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI Clearance. (If you currently have a Secret level clearance, we are open to sponsoring an upgraded clearance.)
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal in a military and/or JAG environment. (Due to the strict requirements of the position, we cannot consider applicants without this experience. Please make sure this experience is clear on your resume.)
  • Must be willing to travel for up to 3 weeks at a time to Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
  • Must be a fast typist and willing to do court reporting and transcription work
  • Must exhibit a high level of discretion and personal decorum
  • Ability to conduct factual and legal research.
  • Knowledge of Paralegal Methods, Practices, and Procedures.
  • Proficient in litigation discovery software and MS Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe PDF.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
