The Packaging Engineer for Aurora designs and develops packaging materials, solutions and processes to meet product and marketing requirements, customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.

Core Responsibilities 

Design and develop packaging materials, solutions and processes to meet product and marketing requirements, customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.
Responsible for all approvals and improvements of supplier packaging during SCR
Responsible for all approvals and improvements of Customer packaging during NPL
Drive continuous improvement on packaging designs (cost, quality, density, stack ability) and standardization on customer & supplier side
Standardization of sizes & variants of all packaging materials (cardboard, totes, pallets, etc.)
Planning and review of total cost of packaging material (budget planning)
Key contact and support for all topics regarding packaging for plant NBT
Entry point for packaging topics for BA, NPM PUR & SCMA
Supplier management of packaging suppliers

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships across the supply chain
  • Effectively communicate across a wide variety of internal and external customers - crisp, clear, continuous communication
  • Systems - utilize and maintain systems (SAP, Supply On, Customer portals, etc.)
  • Maintain awareness of trends and technologies at the forefront of packaging.
  • Additional mechanical design work as necessary
     
  • Maintains a safe work environment, Maintains professional attire, Continually focuses on departmental effectiveness and improvement opportunities, Effectively communicates with team members, suppliers and multiple levels of management,

Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE

  • Bachelor Degree in a technical discipline or related field 
  • Knowledge in packaging design or engineering
  • Strong problem solving skills 
  • Good communication skills: verbal, written and presentations
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job posting.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

*Must wear company-provided ESD safety-toed shoes, smock, and other PPE in required areas
*Sitting or standing for 8+ hours, reaching, and using hands/fingers to operate a computer and other office equipment
*Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.
