About the Role
As an Organ Recovery Coordinator at Indiana Donor Network, you will be an integral step in the organ donation process. In this position you are responsible for:
• Think Big by approaching complex problems and tackling those challenges that come up during an Organ Recovery case
• Serve well by going above and beyond for the families you come in contact with while they grieve
• Be remarkable by supporting our mission and saving up to 8 lives each time you work
Essential job functions include:
• Evaluating organ system function
• Performing a thorough physical assessment
• Completing accurate and proper donor chart documentation
• Preparing OR suite for the recovery
• Assisting with packaging and labeling organs per UNOS and Indiana Donor Network policy
This position works rotating 24-hour shifts (24 hours on / 72 hour off).
Who We're Looking For
Qualified candidates must be either a Registered Nurse with Critical Care experience or a Respiratory Therapist with Critical Care experience. The candidate must have the ability to think analytically and tackle problems using a logical, systematic, and sequential approach. We are looking for someone who can be an extension of our mission and who has the ability to develop and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization. It is essential to demonstrate a depth of knowledge and skill in every aspect of the Organ Recovery Coordinator role. Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) must be obtained within 2 years of date of hire.
