Job description

Sr. Operations Manager

Stord is headquartered in Atlanta with facilities throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe.

Responsibilities
  • Lead dayโ€‘toโ€‘day operations for the entire fulfillment center, including inbound flow, putaway, outbound, B2C and B2B, and returns.
  • Develop and mentor a team of Operations Managers, Area Managers, operations leads, and warehouse associates to achieve daily operational goals.
  • Set and maintain key performance indicators for warehouse location accuracy, dockโ€‘toโ€‘stock, outbound SLA, order productivity, and personnel productivity.
  • Manage budgeting, payroll, and the operational profit and loss statement.
  • Plan staffing and scheduling to meet operational demands, including overtime as needed and coverage during evenings and weekends.
  • Ensure operational success during new client launches and on-going process improvements.
  • Coach and develop all operational staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with crossโ€‘functional teams, including industrial engineering, solutions engineering, customer quality, and implementation.
  • Collaborate with support functions (HR, Safety, Customer Service, and other Ops leaders) to achieve operational objectives.
  • Address operational and personnel issues affecting the functional area and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a highโ€‘volume directโ€‘toโ€‘consumer environment in a manager or higher role.
  • Experience leading salaried teams of 5 or more, and leading teams of 60 or more nonโ€‘exempt employees.
  • Experience running and leading complex, highly technical operations, including automation.
  • Experience in a 500,000+ squareโ€‘foot facility or larger.
  • Experience as a direct contributor in operational startups or changeโ€‘management projects.
  • Proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) from a configuration and troubleshooting perspective.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel or Google Sheets.
  • Bachelorโ€™s degree or equivalent experience in engineering, supply chain, logistics, or related field.
  • Strong organizational, timeโ€‘management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to transport up to 20 lbs and to use material handling equipment such as forklifts.
  • Capacity to perform basic mathematical calculations and work under high workload and pressure.
  • Effective use of relevant material handling equipment and ability to express ideas clearly.
  • Experience in a distributionโ€‘center environment involving varying heights, temperatures, and noise levels.
  • Occasional nonโ€‘standard work hours or overtime as business requires.
Bonus Points
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Masterโ€™s degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience with process improvements such as Lean Six Sigma or Kaizen.
