Position Summary: The Operations Manager oversees the daily operation of the hotel while supporting exceptional guest experiences, operational excellence, and financial performance. This hands-on leadership role partners with department leaders across hotel operations to ensure efficient service delivery, team engagement, and compliance with company and brand standards. The Operations Manager serves as Manager on Duty (MOD) as scheduled and plays a key role in driving guest satisfaction, operational consistency, and associate development. Previous supervisory experience in a unionized hotel is required.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Support the daily operation of the hotel, ensuring exceptional guest service and operational excellence.
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and employees while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Oversee Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, Security, and other operational departments as assigned.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD), resolving guest and operational issues promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a visible, hands-on leadership style while maintaining strong communication across departments.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, and employee engagement initiatives.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist in achieving operational, financial, and guest satisfaction goals through labor management and expense control.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement improvements to drive efficiency and service quality.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, brand standards, union agreements, and all applicable regulations.
  • Partner with department leaders to maintain property standards, preventive maintenance, and safety programs.
  • Support budgeting, reporting, operational meetings, and completion of required corporate training.

Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge:
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive hotel operations leadership experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience in a unionized hotel is required.
  • Strong knowledge of Front Office, Housekeeping, Engineering, and hotel operations.
  • Proven leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing labor costs, operational performance, and guest satisfaction.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and hotel property management systems.
