Position Summary
Velecor is seeking an experienced Senior MSP Engineer to join our Managed Services team. This position serves as a senior technical resource responsible for advanced troubleshooting, project implementation, client support, and technology consulting. The ideal candidate has strong experience supporting Microsoft-based environments, cloud services, networking, cybersecurity, and business technology solutions.
This role works closely with clients and internal teams to ensure stable, secure, and efficient IT operations while contributing to project delivery and ongoing service improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Advanced Technical Support
- Serve as a Tier 3 escalation resource for complex technical issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve advanced server, workstation, networking, and cloud-related incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Support and mentor junior technicians and engineers.
- Participate in on-call escalation rotations as needed.
Client Support & Consulting
- Develop strong relationships with assigned clients.
- Provide technical recommendations that align with client business goals.
- Assist with technology reviews and planning discussions.
- Identify opportunities to improve security, reliability, and performance.
Microsoft Cloud & Infrastructure Administration
Support and maintain:
- Microsoft 365
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Microsoft Intune
- Microsoft Azure
- Windows Server
- Active Directory
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- Hyper-V and VMware environments
- Assist with cloud migrations, server upgrades, and infrastructure improvements.
Networking & Security
Configure and support:
- Firewalls
- VPNs
- Wireless Networks
- VLANs and Switching
- Implement and support:
- Multi-Factor Authentication
- Endpoint Security Solutions
- Email Security
- Backup and Disaster Recovery Platforms
- Security Best Practices
Project Implementation
- Lead small to mid-sized infrastructure and cloud projects.
- Participate in larger client projects alongside senior engineering staff.
- Create project documentation and implementation plans.
- Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers when necessary.
Documentation & Process Improvement
- Maintain accurate technical documentation.
- Update knowledge base articles and procedures.
- Follow Velecor standards and best practices.
- Assist in developing automation and process improvements.
Required Qualifications
Experience
- 5+ years of IT experience.
- 2+ years in a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment preferred.
- Experience supporting multiple client environments.
- Proven troubleshooting and project implementation experience.
