Job Description

Job Title: Associate Microbiologist Sterilization

Location: Minneapolis, MN
Duration: 12+ months (possibility of extension)

Local candidate to Minneapolis, MN needed

Required

  • Candidate needs a bachelors in biology or microbiology.
  • 0-2 years of experience needed.

Job Description

  • Perform microbiological laboratory test activities including bioburden testing, endotoxin testing, environmental monitoring, lethality testing, product inoculation, microbial enumeration and general laboratory activities.

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA in Microbiology, Biology or related scientific field.

Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Medical Device or pharmaceutical experience laboratory/sterilization experience and knowledge of pertinent medical device sterilization documentation including FDA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • The individual will become one of the technical experts at the microbial test methodologies.
  • In this role they will work independently but under the guidance/direction of more senior members of the team, create, update / maintain and perform microbiological procedures including: bioburden, endotoxin, environmental monitoring, lethality testing, product inoculation, microbial enumeration and general microbiological lab methodologies,
  • perform data analysis with Excel or similar software packages, coordinated and verify that equipment is calibrated and profiled on schedule,
  • Act as a liaison between the sterilization engineering staff and the microbiology test laboratory to ensure that the requested/required testing is effectively facilitated and performed in accordance with regulations and specifications within a timely manner, write and maintain laboratory procedures, order supplies, coordinate general lab maintenance.
