Position Overview

The Merchandise Associate provides a welcoming shopping experience by assisting customers, maintaining store organization, and supporting daily retail operations. This role helps customers on the sales floor, processes purchases and returns, restocks merchandise, and ensures displays remain clean and visually appealing. Merchandise Associates may work in multiple areas of the store to support business needs, including the sales floor, fitting rooms, and register. This position is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced retail environment and providing excellent customer service.

This position is located in Staten Island, New York.

Key Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist customers on the sales floor by answering questions and providing product support.
  • Process purchases, returns, and exchanges accurately at the register.
  • Restock shelves, hang and fold merchandise, and maintain an organized sales floor.
  • Unpack shipments, tag items, and prepare new merchandise for the sales floor.
  • Straighten displays and maintain a neat, easy-to-shop store environment.
  • Maintain fitting rooms by keeping areas clean and returning merchandise to the sales floor.
  • Support store team members with daily tasks during busy periods.
  • Follow store safety and operational procedures in a fast-paced retail environment.
Requirements
  • Must have at least six months of recent retail experience.
  • Strong customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to assist customers and provide product support.
  • Ability to operate cash registers accurately and perform basic math.
  • Ability to restock, organize, and maintain merchandise displays.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, time management, and flexibility.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift merchandise.
