Role Summary
Being a Mechanical Engineer, you are an important part of our multifunctioning WM, America Manufacturing Inc. team. You will be driving the Mechanical Engineering development of our assembly processes in Hose, Pumps, Extrusion, Injection Molding and single use assemblies to meet the future demands of our customers and enable the achievement of Excellence in Manufacturing. Your focus will therefore be to execute on performance improvements which will support volume growth and improve KPIs critical to the manufacturing performance for existing and new products.
As an integral part of the Engineering team, you will initially be focused on:
1. Work with the local and global teams to duplicate and standardize the tooling, fixtures, processes and equipment to successfully deliver products that exceed our customers expectations.
2. Develop and execute capital requests as needed to support expansion of Deven Manufacturing site.
3. Work closely with Production to identify areas for improving product quality and productivity.
4. Development of process controls and documentation to minimize rework, scrap and other wastes
What you'll be doing

โ€ข Safe design including ergonomic attributes of the assembly equipment and cells
โ€ข Support NPD teams to ensure that all manufacturing requirements are satisfied in an efficient and capable process.
โ€ข Ensure compliance to regulatory procedures, which includes responsibility for safety and quality within the assembly and wider the WM, America Manufacturing Inc company.
โ€ข Arrange procurement of jigs and fixtures, and manufacture of assembly aids, as well as checking equipment for assembly, ensuring that it is safe and delivers the required performance and quality.
โ€ข Oversee the specifying and purchasing of tools and gauges.
โ€ข Provide front line fault-finding and diagnostics on assembly equipment and processes.
โ€ข Assist in the reporting and solving of production problems and customer complaints where applicable.
โ€ข Technical leader within your department.
โ€ข Specify and propose in collaboration with the sending sites cost justifications on new processes and equipment for improving productivity.
โ€ข Advise corrective actions to overcome problems, including visiting suppliers as required.
โ€ข Issue and ensure compliance with the ECO (Design Change) system.
โ€ข Produce and maintain the standard operating procedures, with the appropriate visual aids.
This is what you'll need to be successful in this role
โ€ข B.S Degree in Mechanical Engineering
โ€ข 5+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering or equivalent experience
โ€ข Comprehensive portfolio of experience within a Manufacturing environment preferably assembly and test utilizing SPC to maintain process consistency.
โ€ข Experience analyzing production assembly and test equipment and processes and documenting modifications.
โ€ข Experience with work flow optimization using lean transformation tools.
โ€ข Experience with 2D & 3D CAD.
โ€ข Proven FMEA, DFMA and RCA experience, Six Sigma Black or Green Belt preferred.
โ€ข Quality tool implementation and analysis.
โ€ข Participating in and leading Continuous Improvement activities.
โ€ข Ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team to maintain critical milestones and production up-time, whilst adhering to our values.
This position offers a salary range of (USD 79,237.00 - 118,856.00 Salaried). Final salary offers are determined by multiple factors, including education, experience, internal equity, geographic location, and the candidate's expertise, and therefore may vary from the range listed. For roles based outside Massachusetts, the applicable salary range may be lower.
