We focus on engineering and manufacturing complex projects for companies in the aerospace, defense, and space industries. We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team.

This position is located on-site in Sedro-Woolley, Washington State.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Janicki Industries is seeking Mechanical Engineers at multiple experience levels to design and deliver advanced machines and automated manufacturing systems. This role is ideal for handsโ€‘on engineers who want to see their designs realized โ€” from concept to implementation. You will work on complex, highโ€‘precision equipment including largeโ€‘scale machine tools. Engineers in this role are deeply involved in both technical design and project execution, working closely with machinists, technicians, controls engineers, and project stakeholders.

At Janicki, a Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, and analyzes all aspects of mechanical systems. They apply engineering principles to solve complex problems including the design of machines, robotics, hydraulic and pneumatic systems etc. Engineers are involved in the fabrication, assembly, installation, operation, and repair of mechanical products. Projects will include largeโ€‘scale machine tools (i.e. our 5โ€‘axis mills), robotic systems, and other equipment with integral electronics and controls.

The following essential job functions are performed as a Mechanical Engineer:

  • Concept, design, and develop complex mechanical systems
  • Use 3D CAD to accurately model mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Produce drawings, specifications, and other documentation
  • Perform analysis and calculations to properly size systems
  • Lead Projects or assist in project management (depending on level), including cost and schedule estimates, procurement, outsource manufacturing, and vendor coordination
  • Assist in the assembly, installation, and commissioning of machines
  • Support existing machines using handsโ€‘on troubleshooting in a production environment, and by implementing improvement projects

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Due to our ITAR and EAR regulations, applicants must be a US Citizen or of Legal Permanent Resident Status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b (a) (3).
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). Janicki will assist with gaining this access once employed. Special Access Program or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position and requires candidate agreed to enter a Continuous Evaluation program.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION



  • Salary range for this role is between $83,000 - $148,000 per year, plus discretionary bonus, 401(k) matching, vacation, and health benefits. Employees can also receive additional pay for off shifts. The range provided is Janickiโ€™s estimate of the base compensation for this role. Actual amount offered will be based on jobโ€‘related and nonโ€‘discriminatory factors such as experience, location, education, training, skills, and abilities
