The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for all external communications, marketing programs, social and other media, including the web site. Communicates Company's mission and accomplishments through public relations, media relations, and marketing and design. Designs and distributes communication and marketing materials to the board, government officials, the public and others.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES/JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Develops and implements marketing and outreach strategies to build theCompany brand visibility, and to inform local government officials, the Memphis/Shelby County business community, the general public and others aboutCompany activities through written, oral and electronic communication.
  • Manages Marketing and Communications staff, including assignments, training, and performance reviews. Makes recommendations to management for staff recognition and reward, or for discipline and termination.
  • Creates and maintains relationship with local and national media.
  • Responsible for constructing, maintaining and identifying content for theCompany web site, social media outlet(s), e-newsletter(s), press releases and all other printed and electronic communications tools. Manages contractors engaged on these projects.
  • MonitorsCompany brand activity on media and social networking sites; provides monthly report to management.
  • InstructsCompany employees on the use of internet tools and policies.
  • Develops talking points for Board members and staff for public presentations, press briefings / interviews, and other uses.
  • Participates in the preparation for allCompany sponsored events.
  • Attends Company-related events as media liaison and to conduct interviews.
