Associate Branch Manager

Pay Range: $19.86 to $23.83USD

The Associate Branch Manager assists in the oversight of banking center functions, ensuring operational excellence and delivering an outstanding customer experience. This role involves setting and achieving individual business development goals, as well as leading, managing, and coaching a team of sales and service professionals to exceed performance and market objectives. Additionally, the Associate Branch Manager is responsible for growing the portfolio of assigned loans and deposits, with a work schedule that may include Saturdays and holidays.

Ideal candidates for this position possess strong leadership and coaching skills, with a proven track record in business development and team management. They should have excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, along with a strong understanding of banking operations and customer service excellence.

The Associate Branch Manager supports the success of the banking center through continually developing leadership and business development skills. Essential Duties

  • Engage with customers, understand their needs, and recommend suitable products. Generate leads through community outreach and handle account openings and loan applications.
  • Foster a sales-focused culture by providing comprehensive training to team members, ensuring they can sell and cross-sell products effectively. Lead a high-performing team by setting clear expectations and providing regular feedback.
  • Supervise and mentor staff, as applicable, offering guidance and support to help them develop their skills and achieve their goals.
  • Set performance goals, conduct regular performance evaluations, and provide consistent, constructive feedback to direct reports.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service by executing transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, and opening consumer accounts, with precision and a friendly demeanor.
  • Build friendly customer relations by participating in community activities to enhance the bank's visibility and foster new business opportunities. Ensure customers receive excellent service and resolve any issues or complaints efficiently.
  • Maintain a professional office image, ensuring the environment is welcoming and reflects the bank's commitment to quality service.
  • Handle customer calls professionally, navigating challenging situations with empathy and efficiency.
  • Oversee daily operations, managing cash levels, supplies, and administrative tasks such as budgeting and handling delinquent accounts. Ensure the smooth functioning of day-to-day operations, including opening and closing procedures.
  • Ensure audit integrity and security by maintaining high standards of risk management and compliance with company policies. Provide necessary training to staff.
  • Manage branch revenue and profitability by meeting growth objectives for deposits, loans, and customer acquisition. Identify cross-sell opportunities and coach staff to deepen customer relationships.
  • Assume responsibility for additional projects and tasks as assigned.

Education & Certifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • History of increasingly responsible experience in banking, finance, or a related field required.

Minimum Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with internal and external customers at all levels.
  • A positive and proactive approach to work, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism in stressful or adverse conditions.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Mathematical proficiency and the ability to quickly and accurately complete standard calculations.
  • Proficient computer literacy, including comfort with Microsoft systems and Office Suite.
  • Intermediate typing skills to meet the needs of this position.
  • Current driver's license and reliable transportation with appropriate insurance coverage; additionally, the ability to drive occasionally in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and at other locations as needed.
  • The ability to work with minimal or no supervision.

Additional Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
