Job description

HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEW

The Trade Compliance Manager is responsible for providing advice and guidance on import and export compliance for an aerospace and defense company while ensuring compliance with import and export regulations including ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and CBP
This is a hybrid position based near Greensboro, NC.

EXPECTATIONS

· Draft and manage export license applications and Technical Assistance Agreements (TAA)
· Provide import clearance instructions and manage other trade compliance matters
· Analyze and interpret CBP, ITAR, EAR, OFAC, and BATFE regulations and implement industry best practices
· Determine import and export classifications, including HTS and ECCN
· Recommend ITAR exemptions and EAR exceptions and manage technical data export compliance
· Use and maintain expertise in online tools including DECCS, Snap-R, EASE, and ACE
· Create processes and guidelines, conduct trade compliance training as needed
· Serve as an Empowered Official
· Stay up to date on trade regulation changes to provide guidance on business impact and process changes

ESSENTIALS

· Bachelor's degree in law, international trade, logistics, or related field required
· Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) preferred
· 5+ years of global trade compliance experience, aerospace and defense industry a plus
· 3+ years of export licensing experience
· Thorough knowledge of ITAR, EAR, and import/export government regulations
· Familiarity with DECCS, Snap-R, and ACE
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office
· Strong project management, leadership, and communication skills
