Senior Landscape Architect - Fort Lauderdale

We are seeking an experience and motivated Senior Landscape Architect to lead complex municipal and public-sector projects from concept through construction. This role provides technical and design leadership, manages project teams, oversees budgets and schedules, and serves as a primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. The Senior Landscape Architect also plays a key role in mentoring staff, shaping design standards, and contributing to the firm's long-term growth and reputation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the planning, design, and delivery of complex, high-visibility municipal projects
  • Oversee and approve design concepts, construction documents, and technical deliverables
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, scopes, and resources to ensure successful outcomes
  • Serve as the primary client liaison, presenting design solutions and managing feedback
  • Mentor and supervise Landscape Architects, junior staff, and design team members
  • Coordinate with engineers, planners, contractors, and regulatory agencies
  • Conduct site visits to support construction administration and ensure design intent
  • Contribute to design standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Landscape Architecture
  • Registered Landscape Architect (RLA) required (FL-preferred, otherwise must attain Florida License within 6-months of employment)
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional, licensed landscape architecture experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Strong experience leading municipal or public-sector projects
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Civil 3D or Revit preferred
  • Proficiency with SketchUp, Rhino, Lumion, or similar visualization tools
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
  • Familiarity with GIS tools and project management software preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills

Work Environment & Schedule
  • In-office for the first six (6) months; hybrid work arrangement available thereafter
  • Office-based leadership and design work combined with regular field visits
  • Frequent travel to project sites, client meetings, and stakeholder engagements
