Job description

We seek a highly motivated Senior Research Associate to support our preclinical cardiac research programs with expertise in cardiomyocyte maintenance and differentiation. As a senior research associate, you will conduct and manage experiments to evaluate the efficacy of novel small molecule compounds in the treatment of cardiac and skeletal muscle diseases. This role requires a proactive individual who can collaborate within a multidisciplinary team and contribute to advancing compounds through preclinical research and development.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain iPSC banks with diverse genetic backgrounds, including routine quality control and line characterization
  • Maintain various iPSC lines in culture and perform cardiomyocyte differentiation and characterization
  • Conduct both cellular and biochemical assays to support preclinical drug discovery programs in cardiac muscle biology.
  • Measure biomarkers of disease progression and compound efficacy.
  • Document experimental methods and results, manage data, and present research findings.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members to build understanding of cardiovascular disease pathogenesis and the mechanism of action of drug candidates.

Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology, or a related field with 3-5 years of relevant research experience.
  • Ability to work weekends, as needed, for iPSC maintenance and experimental timepoints
  • Basic data management skills and the ability to present data clearly and effectively is required.
  • iPSC culture experience required with a preference for individuals with cardiomyocyte differentiation experience.
  • Prior experience in a range of biochemical and molecular biology techniques (e.g. flow cytometry, western blots, qPCR, immunohistochemistry, etc) is preferred.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical/biotechnology environment is a plus.
  • Team-oriented, detail-oriented, proactive.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

Pay Range:
In the U.S., the hiring pay range for fully qualified candidates is $112,950-$131,775 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
