Job description

We are seeking long-term growth and career-minded rock stars to join our team!  American Trading International, Inc. (ATI) is a service-oriented export trading company providing domestic and international companies the opportunity to import and export products to new and existing markets.  ATI exports USA food and beverages to over 80 markets worldwide.

The Procurement Manager will be responsible for supporting and managing a team comprised of Procurement Assistants, Coordinators, Senior Coordinators and Associate Managers. This role interacts with other Managers and the Director in overseeing international exports from America to various customers overseas. This entails collaborating with domestic suppliers and manufacturers, domestic trucking companies and warehouses, international shipping carriers, and ATI customers. The Procurement Manager directs and manages a team with responsibility for setting and monitoring expectations, providing coaching and guidance, as well as constructive feedback to ensure the team meets departmental and company objectives.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage exceptions and issues in the OOR (Open Order Report) from suppliers. 
  • Drive relationships with strategic suppliers ensuring great communication.
  • Ensure supplier FOB pricing is accurate and communicated to the rest of the company.
  • Ensure the design, reporting and tracking of BOMs and all materials is accurate.
  • Support Coordinators, Senior Coordinators, Associate Managers, and others in executing procurement activities, including supplier sourcing, purchase order creation, and order tracking.
  • Work with Sales and SPR Teams to ensure consistent supply based on order plan and supplier capacity. 
  • Ensure proper order workflow between Supply Planners, Freight, Outbound and Documentation Teams. 
  • Responsible for categories to ensure the company has reliable product sourcing in that area.  Work towards supplier redundancy and establish a priority for supplier sourcing within a category.
  • Work with suppliers to improve their capacity & constraints.
  • Responsible for working with Procurement management to keep costs down.
  • Manage and delegate assignments to team members, provide coaching and assist those members and validate their work.
  • Provide feedback and coaching to team members on a weekly basis.
  • Manage the workflow assigned to team members to ensure fair and even work distribution.
  • Develop and utilize management tools & reporting for key performance indicators (KPIs).

What you’ll bring:

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, or related discipline
  • 7 years of progressive experience managing a procurement, purchasing, or supply chain team, with focus on managing export operations or any similar combination of education and management experience.
  • Must possess expert knowledge of procurement and sourcing functions, purchase order terms, pricing, lead times and other procurement activities.
  • Strong organizational, decision making and presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
  • Must possess highly dependable task completion skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and staff.
  • Ability to escalate issues appropriately to Directors and Vice Presidents.
  • Ability to manage stress in a complex environment and have the ability to remain calm under pressure. 
  • Significant leadership and poise on challenging procurement questions.
  • A positive attitude and a proactive approach to work is essential.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Must be proficient in MS office applications to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint.

What you’ll be paid:
Commensurate with experience, you will be paid $80,000 - $112,000 annually.
