Warehouse Associate / Inspector


Location: Lansing, MI

Engagement Type: 1099 Independent Contractor

Compensation: $20–$24/hour, based on experience


Position Summary

Techcom LLC is seeking a reliable and responsible Warehouse Associate to support our telecommunications construction operations in Lansing, MI.

This is a hands-on position that requires someone who can work independently, take ownership of daily responsibilities, and manage warehouse tasks without constant supervision. The role includes receiving and organizing materials, preparing equipment for field crews, maintaining inventory, inspecting equipment, and transporting materials when needed.

A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.


Responsibilities

  • Receive, inspect, and verify incoming materials, equipment, and deliveries.
  • Load and unload trucks with construction materials and equipment.
  • Organize and maintain warehouse and yard inventory.
  • Prepare materials, tools, and equipment for field crews.
  • Inspect tools, equipment, and materials for damage or defects.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and equipment records.
  • Transport materials and equipment between the warehouse and project locations as needed.
  • Operate equipment such as telehandlers, mini excavators, box trucks, and similar equipment.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse and yard.
  • Identify and report inventory shortages, damaged equipment, or other issues.
  • Handle daily warehouse responsibilities independently and follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Perform additional warehouse, yard, and operational support duties as needed.


Qualifications

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is preferred.
  • Clean driving record.
  • Previous warehouse, construction, logistics, fleet, or similar hands-on experience preferred.
  • Experience operating telehandlers, mini excavators, box trucks, or similar equipment is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Strong ability to work independently and manage responsibilities without constant supervision.
  • Reliable, responsible, and accountable for assigned tasks and company property.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Experience in telecommunications, utility, or construction industries is a plus.
