Job Title: Staff Development and Infection Prevention Nurse

Job Summary:

Join our dedicated team at Dennett Rehab Center as a Staff Development and Infection Prevention Nurse, where you will play a critical role in enhancing patient care quality and making a difference in the lives of others. As part of our exciting new chapter focused on elevating the standard of care, you will have the opportunity to train and educate nursing associates, develop and implement QAPI programs, and safeguard the health, safety, and welfare of our guests.

Responsibilities:

Staff Development:

  • Desire and ability to effectively train and educate all nursing associates and other associates as applicable

  • Knowledgeable of practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines governing functions in the post-acute care facility

  • Plan, develop, direct, conduct, evaluate, and coordinate staff training, education, in-service, and orientation

QAPI Leadership:

  • Direct the design, implementation, and continuous evaluation of the QAPI program and facilitate meetings

  • Identify trends, system breakdowns, and high-risk areas through audits, analysis, and staff input

  • Develop, lead, and document Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs)

  • Ensure QAPI documentation is accurate, comprehensive, and survey-ready

Infection Preventionist:

  • Responsible for identifying, controlling, and preventing outbreaks of infections in the facility

  • Collects and analyzes data infection control data to monitor infectious outbreaks in the facility and surrounding community

  • Develops, implements, and maintains on-going training and educational programs for all facility personnel in relation to infection control topics

  • Acts as an infection control educational resource for employees, community members, guests, and their families

  • Ensures facility compliance with federal, state, and local infection control standards

Supervisory Responsibility:

  • This position has indirect supervisor responsibilities for Certified Nurse Aides and other nursing personnel as well as on-call duties

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse (RN) license required

  • Long Term Care experience

  • Infection Prevention Training Preferred

  • Proven experience in quality assurance or a similar role within healthcare

  • Strong knowledge of internal medicine, inpatient care, and memory care practices

  • Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with staff and management

  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to assess compliance with standards
