Job Description:
The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Florida invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant In or Associate In as a Doctor of Optometry (OD) to provide patient care and education in an expanding academic practice. There is immediate opportunity to engage in a busy tertiary clinical practice in an established longstanding department with a brand new, state of the art clinic and optical shop. Salary, rank and tenure status will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The College of Medicine has a competitive faculty compensation plan, which includes incentives and bonuses. Employer will assist with relocation costs.
University employer-paid benefits include individual and family (spouse/domestic partner and children up to age 26) health insurance, life insurance, and long-term disability insurance. Retirement benefits include participation in 403(b) and 457 plans as well as an employer match. Minimum Requirements:
Requirements include completion of an approved accredited school or college of optometry.
Must obtain and/or maintain a current Florida optometric license.
Must be able to obtain medical staff credentialing with UF Health facilities as well as qualify for enrollment with third party billing entities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Qualifications, in addition to clinical expertise, include a strong commitment to teaching, resident training, and research as well as participation in academic activities. Incumbent will provide patient care services within UF Health facilities and affiliated locations.
