Job description

TLC, The Treatment and Learning Centers, is seeking part-time Psychology Associates to join our interdisciplinary outpatient team in Rockville, Maryland. We welcome applicants from doctoral, specialist-level (Ed.S.), and master's-level psychology training programs who are eligible to practice under supervision in Maryland. This position offers the opportunity to gain advanced experience in psychological assessment, counseling, and interdisciplinary care while receiving supervision from experienced licensed psychologists.

TLC provides a unique environment where Psychology Associates can gain extensive experience in psychological assessment, counseling, consultation, and interdisciplinary care while working toward independent licensure. Whether your passion is psychological assessment, counseling, or a combination of both, TLC offers a supportive environment where clinicians can build meaningful relationships with families while working alongside experienced professionals committed to quality care.

The Treatment and Learning Centers (TLC) is a private, non-profit organization founded in 1950. It is an interdisciplinary organization. Each year, TLC's programs serve more than 2,000 neurodiverse individuals with a wide range of special needs. We use a holistic and strengths-based approach that considers needs in the home, at work or school, and in the community, working across disciplines to address the needs of the whole person.

Hourly Rate of $31-$40, depending on experience, schedule, and licensure

Responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting comprehensive psychological evaluations across the lifespan, from toddlers through older adults
  • Assessing concerns related to autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, executive functioning, emotional and behavioral functioning, and developmental differences
  • Writing comprehensive reports and providing feedback to families and schools
  • Providing individual, family, and/or group counseling services
  • Consulting and collaborating with other professionals within TLC's interdisciplinary programs
  • Participating in case consultation and collaborative treatment planning

Qualifications for the Psych Associate:
Required:

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology, School Psychology, or Counseling Psychology OR
  • Master's, Specialist (Ed.S.), or equivalent graduate degree in School Psychology or a related field with eligibility for Psychology Associate registration in Maryland
  • Eligible for Psychology Associate registration and practice under supervision in Maryland
  • Experience or training in psychological assessment
  • Experience providing therapy, counseling, consultation, or school-based psychological services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative interdisciplinary environment

Preferred:

  • Experience evaluating autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disabilities, developmental delays, and emotional-behavioral concerns
  • Experience working with neurodiverse individuals
  • Interest in working with clients across the lifespan
  • Interest in play-based interventions and working with young children

Training and Supervision
At TLC, Psychology Associates receive:

  • Individual supervision from licensed psychologists
  • Opportunities to accrue supervised experience toward Maryland licensure requirements
  • Ongoing mentorship and professional development
  • Opportunities to work with toddlers, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults
  • Regular case consultation
  • Training in evidence-based assessment and intervention practices
  • Experience working within an interdisciplinary model of care

Schedule Expectations
TLC Hours of Operation:

  • Monday through Thursday: 8:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Saturday: 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Part-time and PRN Psychology Associates must be available for at least one evening or Saturday shift per week.
