Position Summary

The Nurse Manager is a Registered Nurse leader responsible for the overall operation of the unit. This role provides direction and oversight in planning, coordinating, assessing, implementing, and evaluating the comprehensive plan of care for each resident.


The Nurse Manager (RN) ensures that staff deliver the care and services necessary to attain and maintain the highest practicable physical, psychological, social, and spiritual well-being of residents. This is achieved in accordance with each resident's comprehensive assessment and individualized Plan of Care, while maintaining full compliance with current state, federal, and VA regulations.

Requirements

  • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and valid State of Maine license (required)
  • Graduate of an accredited Associate Degree Nursing program (required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
  • Three to five years of nursing experience, with leadership experience strongly preferred
  • Experience or training in geriatrics, rehabilitation, education, and/or psychiatric nursing desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, direct, and coordinate nursing and allied health personnel
  • Genuine interest in and commitment to gerontological nursing
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
