Watts & Associates is working discreetly with a highly regarded Am Law 200 ranked national law firm seeking a Managing or Senior Corporate Associate in M and A and Private Equity to join its San Francisco, CA office.
This is a 100 percent transactional role supporting sophisticated mergers and acquisitions and private equity matters for growth oriented and established clients. The team is seeking someone who is comfortable operating in a fast paced deal environment and who values close collaboration with partners and clients.
The firm offers a well established national and international corporate platform, with a collaborative culture and high standards of client service. The position is based in San Francisco with an in office expectation of five days per week.
The Opportunity
You will work on a broad range of M&A and private equity transactions, including drafting and negotiating principal deal documents, coordinating diligence and closing workstreams, and advising on transaction structuring and execution. The role provides meaningful responsibility and direct exposure to client teams within a partner led environment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The firm is seeking a Managing or Senior Corporate Associate in M&A and Private Equity with:
- 4 to 7 years of law firm experience focused on mergers and acquisitions, including private equity transactions
- Active membership in the State Bar of California
- Excellent academic credentials and strong drafting and communication skills
- A commercially minded, proactive approach and ability to thrive in a fast paced transactional practice
- Comfort working closely with clients and being regularly present in the San Francisco office

Compensation
The anticipated salary range for this role is 310,000 to 420,000, depending on class year, experience and other relevant factors.
