Associate, Structured Finance
Austin, TX
Permanent | Fully Onsite (M-TH Onsite, Flex Fridays)
Soni's client is seeking an Associate, Structured Finance to support a high-performing capital markets and structured finance team focused on securitization, debt financing, and investment execution. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with investment banking or structured finance experience who thrives in a fast-paced, highly analytical environment.
Reporting to senior leadership within the capital markets function, this individual will support complex structured finance transactions, financial modeling, securitization activities, and lender/investor relationships across a sophisticated real estate and mortgage investment platform.
Responsibilities of the Associate, Structured Finance:
โ€ข Support execution of structured finance transactions including securitizations and private debt financings
โ€ข Perform fixed income analytics, investment return modeling, and scenario/stress testing
โ€ข Conduct mortgage cash flow modeling and commercial real estate financing analysis
โ€ข Assist with transaction structuring, pricing analysis, and risk evaluation
โ€ข Prepare presentations, lender materials, investment memorandums, and Board-level reporting
โ€ข Coordinate due diligence processes with legal, tax, accounting, regulatory, and third-party stakeholders
โ€ข Interface with lenders, investment partners, and rating agencies throughout transaction lifecycles
โ€ข Monitor debt covenant compliance and support ongoing financing reporting requirements
โ€ข Partner with FP&A and Investor Services teams on reporting processes and cash flow forecasting
โ€ข Support strategic financing initiatives and capital markets projects across the organization
โ€ข Collaborate cross-functionally to improve processes and drive operational efficiencies
Requirements of the Associate, Structured Finance:
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field
โ€ข 4+ years of experience in structured finance, investment banking, debt capital markets, or related financial services environment
โ€ข Experience with securitized products such as ABS, mortgage-backed securities, equipment finance, student loan products, or related asset classes
โ€ข Strong understanding of bond markets, structured products, and financing processes
โ€ข Experience with financial statement analysis, valuation, and financial modeling
โ€ข Advanced Excel skills including Index Match, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, and complex financial modeling
โ€ข Experience using Bloomberg
โ€ข Strong PowerPoint and presentation development skills
โ€ข Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
โ€ข Ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications:
โ€ข Experience with mortgage cash flow modeling and stress testing
โ€ข Knowledge of commercial real estate valuation and mortgage financing risk assessment
โ€ข Exposure to rating agency processes and credit analysis methodologies
โ€ข Experience supporting securitization or structured debt transactions from execution through close
โ€ข Background within investment banking, capital markets, structured products, or real estate finance
