The Position
Grid United has numerous large-scale transmission projects underway, and this is an exciting opportunity to help commercialize and finance our projects. We are seeking a Finance Senior Associate with experience in project finance modeling, financial analysis, and commercial structuring for large-scale energy infrastructure projects. This role is focused primarily on analyzing and financing Grid United's transmission development portfolio, including project-level economics, valuation, and capital strategy. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, this position is located in Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities & Outcomes:
  • Create and maintain project financial models, including calculating project valuations and returns, pricing a variety of revenue structures, and associated sensitivity analyses
  • Build and update the corporate financial model including projections and modeling various financing and commercial arrangements
  • Provide input and work with cross-functional teams to compile project-level budgeting
  • Develop and manage consolidated budgeting projections on a corporate level to support strategic capital planning
  • Conduct deep due diligence for potential acquisitions, including thorough market analyses, transaction structuring, and valuation analyses
  • Provide financial support to commercial contract negotiations
  • Prepare investment presentations and memos regarding new investment opportunities with the opportunity to participate in management discussions around potential investments and strategic imperatives
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, regulatory developments, and industry dynamics to identify potential opportunities and risks
  • Collaborate with internal and external cross-functional team members (e.g. project developers, market and commercial analytics, land, engineering, environmental, interconnection, accounting, legal, etc.)

Desired Experience and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance or related degree
  • 3-5+ years of experience with a minimum 3+ years prior work experience in a related financial, energy, investment banking and/or private investment role or relevant experience across power and utilities investment banking or infrastructure private equity, with strong project finance modeling skills
  • Very strong quantitative skills and deep modeling experience
  • A passion for collaborative, team-based work with a hands-on entrepreneurial approach to investing and business growth
  • Strong ambition to learn the cutting edge of the power industry and transmission development
  • Excitement to understand, model, and evaluate a variety of commercial and financial structures, including novel structures to enable the company's innovative transmission projects
