The Corporate Strategy team sits within the Transformation Organization at BBU. Our team's purpose is to transform and disrupt the bakery and snack industries through building new go-to market strategies, embracing new channels of distribution, and developing new approaches to the business. The Corporate Strategy team collaborates across the BBU business to solve cross-functional challenges, serving as thought leaders.
MBA Summer Associate in Corporate Strategy will solve a well-defined strategic business problem or opportunity within new industry categories, existing product and brand portfolio, or areas like sales, supply chain and operations. Past projects include strategic market analysis, asset strategy and business case development, and product portfolio/pricing optimization. Summer Associates will also have exposure to company operations, including visits to bakeries, sales/delivery route rides and retailer market tours. The internship will also allow associates to interact with senior executives throughout the company, including presenting project analysis and recommendations to C-level executives.
Key Job Responsibilities:
The program will provide the following opportunities:
  • Project ownership: Complete assigned project from kick-off to recommendation development and presentation to Senior Leadership
  • Data analysis / Data-driven decision making: Conduct various analyses (e.g., consumer or customer segmentation, market sizing, competitor analysis) and conduct scenario modelling to identify key insights and opportunities for BBU using internal and external databases and tools
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Navigate the organization and work with other functions within BBU, such as marketing, innovation, consumer insights, category management, R&D and supply chain to ensure alignment of strategic recommendations
  • Actionable Results: Produce actionable and relevant insights, recommendations and project results, integral to the business in the form of PowerPoint Presentations and Excel Financial Models

Education and Work History:
  • First year MBA student
  • Must be available for 12-week, full-time position from late-May to mid-August
  • 3+ years' work experience
  • Experience in the following areas is preferred: management consulting, strategic planning/corporate strategy, finance, operations, supply chain, commercial or growth strategy, market research, project management
  • Experience with consumer-packaged goods and/or large retailers preferred
