Duties

The incoming Trusts & Estates Associate will play a pivotal role in advising private clients, family leadership, and institutional fiduciaries throughout the entire lifecycle of wealth planning and estate administration.

Core responsibilities include:

  • Architecting and executing comprehensive estate plans, asset protection strategies, and wealth transfer vehicles for high-net-worth individuals, family offices, and business owners.
  • Drafting sophisticated estate planning documentation, including revocable and irrevocable trusts, dynasty trusts, generation-skipping transfer tax planning structures, and charitable entities.
  • Directing complex estate and trust administration processes, including probate proceedings, fiduciary accounting, asset valuations, and federal estate and gift tax returns.
  • Serving as a primary legal advisor to private clients, family office principals, closely held business leaders, and philanthropic foundation representatives.
  • Advising business owners on corporate succession planning, governance considerations, and tax-efficient ownership transfer strategies.
Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate exceptional academic credentials and substantive experience in wealth planning and estate administration within an established law firm environment.

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school with an outstanding academic record.

Active Bar Membership in good standing with the State Bar of Florida.

Three (3) to Five (5) years of substantive experience in estate planning, trust drafting, and estate administration.

Demonstrated technical mastery of estate and gift tax analysis, contractual drafting, and client communication.

Superior interpersonal capabilities with a collaborative, detail-oriented, and self-motivated work ethic.

Skills

The following credentials and specialized experience will significantly enhance a candidate's application:

Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation or Estate Planning from an accredited law school.

Experience advising family offices, private foundations, and national public charities on tax-exempt governance and charitable gifting strategies.

Advanced technical knowledge of federal estate, gift, and generation-skipping transfer tax compliance.
