Job description

Responsibilities
. This position prepares journal entries and performs general ledger reconciliations and other General Ledger closing duties. Special projects will also be required of the position in the absence of the staff accountant.
A minimum of a high school graduate or equivalent, preferably with an Associates Degree in Accounting. A minimum of two (2) years of experience in accounts payable/payroll department, preferably in a healthcare setting. Must be proficient with personal computers and Microsoft Excel or any combination of education, training or experience in a business office environment. Would prefer previous experience in accounting software. May be required to work occasional overtime and flexible hours.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies or members of the business community.
