Position Overview

As a Store Sales Associate I, you will help create a positive shopping and donating experience for our customers while supporting daily store operations. This role focuses on customer service, cashiering, merchandising, donation support, and store upkeep.

Key ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service & Sales
  • Provide friendly, respectful customer service while representing The Salvation Army's mission
  • Greet and assist shoppers and donors
  • Process transactions accurately using the Point-of-Sale (POS) system
  • Handle cash and credit transactions following TSA cash-handling policies
Store Operations & Merchandising
  • Open, close, and balance cash drawers as assigned
  • Stock merchandise, straighten racks, and maintain sales floor organization
  • Ensure merchandise is properly displayed and replenished
  • Follow all policies regarding the pricing and sale of donated goods
Teamwork & Scheduling
  • Work collaboratively with team members and store leadership
  • Support store productivity benchmarks and sales goals
  • Maintain availability for flexible scheduling, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays

QualificationsEducation & Experience
  • High school diploma or currently pursuing one
  • Retail, customer service, or cashier experience preferred
Skills & Physical Requirements
  • Basic computer and cash-handling skills
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally team lift up to 100 lbs
  • Comfortable working in an environment that may be dusty or experience temperature changes
