Description and Requirements
General Description: Outside Commercial Lines sales position. Responsible for driving business sales, retention and growing existing client revenue. Manage client relationships and drive profitability, satisfaction, and organic growth.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Achieve annualized new business sales of $175k in our target market of companies at least $10mm in sales within a specific industry.
โ€ข Work with Practice Leader to declare a primary industry specialization (vertical). May also choose a secondary vertical that is aligned with primary vertical.
โ€ข With assistance from leadership and account management staff, retain at least 92% of business year over year.
โ€ข Meet new business activity and quality appointment goals.
โ€ข Use USI resources to research prospects and develop customized messaging for prospects.
โ€ข Understand and explain USI's competitive differentiation to clients and prospects.
โ€ข Develop sales business plan and use effective prospecting strategies.
โ€ข Innovate for clients using market knowledge and advanced understanding of technical insurance issues.
โ€ข Take part in national and regional vertical meetings and video calls.
โ€ข Engage in meetings on preparing for first appointments, advancing, closing, and retaining of business.
โ€ข Use USI's contact management and sales automation tools to support sales processes. Input timely and accurate information to facilitate sales and revenue projections and engage technical resources.
โ€ข Participate in USI's industry training and sales support programs.
โ€ข Pursue cross-selling opportunities to enhance prospect and client relationships.
โ€ข Collaborate with account management team on significant account management services for clients.
โ€ข Demonstrate strong knowledge of USI competitors.
โ€ข Positively represent USI in meetings, seminars, trade shows, and networking events.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
โ€ข 3 years + of sales experience in an insurance brokerage with proven track record of sales success.
โ€ข College degree preferred.
โ€ข Must hold a Property & Casualty insurance license.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance.
โ€ข Personable, highly motivated, and goal oriented. Driven to achieve individual sales goals.
โ€ข Superior communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
โ€ข Excellent organizational and follow-up skills.
โ€ข A consultative, positive, and resourceful approach to dealing with prospects, clients, and associates.
โ€ข Excellent listening skills with strong customer focus.
โ€ข Ability to deal with senior level management and have a top-level executive presence.
