Job description

We are currently seeking an Electrical Designer to support our Oak Ridge, TN office.
As an Electrical Designer in the Oak Ridge office, you will perform a variety of electrical design functions. This includes development of facility models and construction drawings such as plans, one-line diagrams, control diagrams, interconnection diagrams, elevations and details, schedules and bills of materials. This also includes complete design of lighting systems for buildings and outdoor areas. Lighting design includes fixture selection, model calculations which will determine lighting level for normal and emergency lighting situations. Activities could include assistance with cost estimating and equipment summary for bills of materials.

Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in engineering from a certified institution
  • Four (4) or more years of electrical engineering design experience
  • Construction support experience for Title 3 activities
  • Sole US citizenship required (to comply with government customer requirements and/or applicable government regulations)
  • Short Circuit Analysis experience
  • Working knowledge of the NEC

Preferred Qualifications:
  • DOE experience desired
  • NQA-1 experience desired
  • Lighting calculation experience
  • Familiarity with 3-Dimensional Applications
  • Knowledge of broad range of electrical systems is required, including power system design, substation design, fire alarm design, lighting design, load flow studies, communications design, grounding design and equipment selection
  • Ability to independently produce construction documentation using 2-D and 3-D applications is required
  • Experience in providing construction support or services during construction is required

Work Location:
This position is remote/hybrid work with a preferred for this position to be worked full-time in Oak Ridge, TN. For people within 50 miles of the Oak Ridge, TN office, a hybrid option requiring a person to be in office for minimum of 50% of the week. For people outside of 50 miles, a remote option with quarterly travel to the Oak Ridge, TN office is available. For hybrid and remote work, you are required to provide and work in a secured location as approved by the company within the United States due to the projects that you will be participating in.
Compensation Details:
$30.00 - $50.00
