Job description

We have been exclusively engaged by a long-standing client to help them hire a Full Stack Software Developer to join their team.

This is not your typical full-stack role where you're buried in tickets and incremental updates. This is an opportunity to step into a high-impact engineering role within a company that has quietly dominated a niche market for decades, and is now making a serious investment in modernizing how its technology operates behind the scenes.

They are rethinking how data moves through the business, replacing legacy systems with modern, event-driven architecture, and building scalable services that will shape the next phase of the company's growth.

They are looking for a full-stack developer who can do more than just code. Someone who can take ownership, think at a systems level, and actually drive solutions forward.

This is a direct hire position, based in Exton, PA, with a hybrid schedule (3 days onsite).

The Role You'll Play

This role sits at the center of a major modernization effort. You will not just be maintaining systems, you will be helping redesign them. You will work on initiatives like rebuilding core data pipelines, breaking apart legacy systems into scalable services, and helping shift the organization toward an event-driven architecture.

This is the kind of role where you are trusted to take something, run with it, and bring it across the finish line.

What you will be doing:

  • Build and enhance full stack applications that support critical internal operations

  • Design and develop RESTful APIs and backend services

  • Help modernize legacy systems into scalable, event-driven architectures

  • Work with technologies like Node.js, TypeScript, and cloud-based tools in Azure

  • Develop front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks

  • Work directly with data pipelines, integrations, and transformation processes

  • Collaborate with a small team of engineers, architects, and stakeholders

  • Troubleshoot and resolve real production issues that directly impact the business

  • Contribute to clean code practices, testing, and CI/CD pipelines

This is not a role where work disappears into a backlog. You will see what you build being used, quickly.

Background Profile

They are looking for someone who can operate with confidence and independence. Someone who understands how systems fit together, not just how to complete a task. The ideal candidate is someone who can take a problem, ask the right questions, and deliver a solution without needing constant direction.

What you bring:

  • 5 to 8+ years of experience in full stack development

  • Strong experience with Java OR Node.js with TypeScript/JavaScript

  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs

  • Front-end experience with frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue

  • Strong SQL and database experience

  • Experience working in Agile environments

  • Familiarity with CI/CD and version control (Git)

  • Ability to think beyond implementation and understand system-level impact

What will make you stand out:

  • Experience modernizing legacy systems

  • Exposure to event-driven architecture

  • Experience with Azure tools such as Event Hubs or Data Factory

  • Experience with ETL, integrations, or data pipelines

  • Any familiarity with music or sheet music (rare, but valuable here)
