Job Description:

Scope: The Oncology Business Representative supports revenue cycle and patient access functions for oncology services, with a focus on infusion therapy. This role ensures accurate insurance verification, authorization coordination, and treatment plan review to support timely care delivery, minimize denials, and optimize reimbursement. The position plays a critical role in reducing financial barriers for patients undergoing complex cancer treatment. This position works in an oncology clinic or infusion center setting and functions in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment requiring close coordination with nursing, pharmacy, billing, and authorization teams.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.

2 + years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, preferably in oncology, infusion service or specialty care. Experience reviewing claims and identifying denial patterns, particularly in high-cost drug therapies, preferred. Experience utilizing EMR systems and oncology practice management/billing platforms preferred.

Specialized Knowledge:

Proficiency in Microsoft Office including applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software and Crystal Report Writer.

Must type a minimum of 65 wpm.

Strong knowledge of insurance verification, oncology benefits, and prior authorization.

Familiarity with oncology specific billing, including chemotherapy/immunotherapy administration and drug coding (HCPCS/J-CODES).

Working knowledge of ICD-10 diagnosis coding and its application to oncology treatment plans.

Oncology practice management/billing platforms.
