We are a dynamic, performance-driven hedge fund specializing in long/short equity strategies across global markets. Based in the heart of New York City, we pride ourselves on fostering a collaborative environment where innovative thinking and rigorous analysis drive superior returns for our investors. We're seeking a talented Associate Equity Analyst, Healthcare (Buyside) to join our team and contribute to our high-conviction investment process.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven finance professional with 2-4 years of experience to advance their career in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating hedge fund setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive fundamental analysis on equities in the healthcare sector, including financial modeling, valuation (DCF, multiples, etc.), competitive landscape assessment, and earnings forecasts.
  • Monitor portfolio holdings and potential investments, tracking key metrics, news, and industry developments to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Prepare detailed investment memos, pitch books, and presentations for internal review and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with the investment team on idea generation, due diligence, and portfolio construction.
  • Conduct meetings with company management, sell-side analysts, and industry experts to gather insights.
  • Contribute to risk management by analyzing macroeconomic factors, sector rotations, and market volatility.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects, such as thematic research or special situations analysis.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field (MBA or CFA candidacy preferred).
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience in equity research, preferably on the buyside (hedge fund, asset management) or sell-side (investment banking, equity research).
  • Strong financial modeling skills with proficiency in Excel; experience with Bloomberg, FactSet, or CapIQ is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of equity markets, valuation techniques, and fundamental analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Preferred Skills
  • Sector expertise in healthcare.
  • Programming skills (Python, VBA) for data analysis and automation.
  • Demonstrated track record of successful investment recommendations.
  • Passion for markets and a proactive approach to learning.
