Our Power Delivery Group is seeking a Substation Engineering Manager. You'll build strong client relationships, lead strategic growth, and ensure high-quality, on-time project delivery.   • Kennewick, WA (or WA State area)
  • Remote in Montana, Idaho, Oregon
  • Other ENERCON offices will also be considered

Responsibilities

Every meeting, every decision, every challenge is a chance to lead, grow, and make a real impact.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, manage, and supervise both local and remote technical staff to develop and grow the Substation organization. Provide ongoing mentoring to direct reports and ensure mentoring is occurring across the team. Lead, coordinate, and build teamwork among other team members and disciplines at all levels
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure deliverables meet or exceed client expectations. Collaborate with clients to develop procedures that meet requirements and improve effectiveness and quality. Lead technical communication and coordination with internal and external clients
  • Project Execution & Quality: Lead projects and proposal development or substation projects. Perform quality checks on proposals, conceptual and detail design substation projects. Work with Project Managers and clients to ensure high-quality, on-time deliverables within budget. Develop and understand scope definition and budget development in support of Requests for Proposals
  • Business Operations & Reporting: Develop and implement plans for managing budgets and resources. Develop and submit regular reports to track business performance and results
  • Strategic Growth & Marketing: Grow, market, and support the preparation of proposals, presentations, and overall client engagement. Develop competitive strategies for acquiring targeted clients and expanding relationships with assigned clients. Provide input to support strategic planning, development, deployment, and growth with Power Delivery clients
  • Market Engagement & Awareness: Understand and respond to overall market trends, challenges, and client concerns. Attend conferences, workshops, and technical committees to advance ENERCON's market presence #LI-MB1

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college/university in Engineering or related discipline
  • Electric Utility experience in the substation function required
  • 3+ years related work experience in substation design and analysis with a minimum of 1 year in a leadership role for Associate Level, 6+ years of experience with 2 years in leadership for Manager Level
  • PE required
  • Leadership, creativity, and technical background to understand and develop the substation business
  • Entrepreneurial background and experience in growing a team and expanding business footprint
  • Practical knowledge of engineering methods and techniques with the ability to read and interpret engineering and design plans for substation projects
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a talent for providing excellent customer service
  • Demonstrated management experience of a work team delivering on goals and objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Understanding of NESC and NEC design requirements and basic regulatory guidelines
  • Experience in electrical codes, standards, and criteria for power systems
  • Must be collaborative, innovative and team-oriented
  • Broad knowledge of industry and regulatory standards pertaining to the electrical substation industry
  • Must be able to gain authorization/clearance to access regulated electric utility facilities
  • AcSELerator, MicroStation, AutoCAD, and MS Office experience
  • Ability to travel 20-25% of the time. Duration of travel may vary from a few days to a few weeks

Compensation Range
USD $117,000.00 - USD $190,000.00 /Yr.
