Description

Diamond Antenna and Microwave Corporation is in need of an Engineering Manager at our Antenna Associates, Inc., division in Brockton, MA.


Engineering Leadership & Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a small team of engineers, designers, and technicians. This includes mechanical, electrical and RF engineers
  • Set priorities, manage workloads, and ensure timely delivery of engineering outputs.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.

Project & Technical Oversight

  • Oversee the design, development, and validation of custom-engineered products and manufacturing solutions. Ensuring timelines, budgets and quality standards are met.
  • Provide hands-on engineering support, including drafting, analysis, and problem-solving when needed.
  • Ensure engineering documentation is accurate, complete, and properly maintained.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with production to ensure manufacturability and resolve technical issues on the shop floor.
  • Support sales and business development with technical input, feasibility assessments, cost estimates, and customer presentations.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance on testing, compliance, and corrective actions. Also work with manufacturing and product developmentย 

Process & Standards

  • Develop and maintain engineering standards, procedures, and best practices.
  • Lead initiatives to improve design processes, reduce lead times, and improve product performance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Manage resource allocation and project scheduling while continuously driving initiatives and fostering innovation within the team.
  • Prepare technical reports, budgets and project documentation for senior management.

Customer & Supplier Interaction

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers during project scoping, design reviews, and troubleshooting.
  • Engage suppliers to source specialized components, evaluate alternatives, and optimize cost and performance.

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or custom-engineered-product environment.
  • Experience with complex assemblies, electromechanical design, and/or RF systems.
  • 5+ years of supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools; e.g., SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, fabrication, assembly, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Preferred

  • Experience in a small company or startup-like environment requiring flexibility and hands-on involvement.
  • FEA experience and MIL Standards experience a plusย 
  • Background in specialized or custom engineering, prototyping, or low volume/high mix manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and engineering change control processes.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license is a plus but not required.
