RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate and deliver Lean Transformational strategies and tactics; including projects in 6S, Model Cell development, pull systems, etc.
- Design and refine production workspaces and process flows to support efficient, high-quality manufacturing operations
- Design and optimize tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for production operations, while implementing Lean Manufacturing principles to reduce waste and improve efficiency
- Evaluate and improve manufacturing methods, processes and equipment
- Conduct time studies, workflow analysis, and capacity planning to balance workloads, and develop and maintain corresponding SOP’s and process documentation
- Train and support operators, technicians and production associates in best practices to ensure compliance with safety, environmental and regulatory requirements
- Liaise with suppliers/subcontractors to confirm product specifications, verify drawings, validate product quality and maintain effective production standards
- Assist with quoting special projects and provide technical product expertise, calculations and support to customers and sales team
- Lead cost reduction initiatives while maintaining product quality and reliability
- Facilitate and/or participate in transformational Kaizen events
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- 3+ years of industrial or manufacturing engineering experience working with discrete parts
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies
- Experienced with CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD or similar) and ERP/MRP systems
- Solid working knowledge of machining, assembly, automation and other manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949 or similar)
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) implementation experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite
- Experience with bearings, mechanical power transmission, and drive train products
- Automated production process experience
