The Corporate Finance Technology team within the Procurement Technology group seeks a highly motivated Software Development Engineer.

Business Description

Blackstone Technology & Innovations (BXTi) is the technology organization at the core of Blackstone’s operations. BXTi develops next‑generation systems that manage risk, drive operational efficiency and improve transparency for both internal and external clients.

Position Overview

As an Associate Software Development Engineer you will design, develop, integrate and support business‑critical applications that enable procurement operations across Blackstone, including supplier onboarding, purchasing, invoice processing, analytics and integrations with enterprise systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with product owners, business stakeholders and engineering teams to design, develop, test and maintain applications and integration services.
  • Develop and support APIs, data integrations and enterprise services that connect internal systems with third‑party procurement and finance platforms.
  • Participate in the design and implementation of new technology solutions, ensuring delivery of scalable, secure and high‑quality software.
  • Support production applications and integrations by troubleshooting issues, performing root cause analysis and implementing both immediate and long‑term solutions.
  • Contribute to platform modernization and cloud infrastructure initiatives, including automation, monitoring, performance optimization and deployment improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders during the onboarding and integration of new third‑party applications and vendors.
  • Participate in code reviews and promote software engineering best practices, including maintainability, performance, security and testing.
  • Work within Agile development teams to deliver solutions aligned with business priorities and timelines.
  • Utilize monitoring and observability tools to proactively identify and resolve issues impacting system reliability and performance.
  • Thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment with evolving priorities and business needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in software engineering, application development or technology operations.
  • Experience developing applications using C#, Python or similar object‑oriented programming languages.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals, including object‑oriented design principles, data structures, algorithms and design patterns.
  • Experience designing, developing or consuming RESTful APIs and integration services.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with experience working with both SQL and NoSQL databases.
  • Experience working with cloud‑based platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Microsoft Azure.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments and modern software development practices.
  • Experience working within Agile software development environments.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to partner with both technical and business stakeholders.
  • Work effectively within distributed teams and adapt to evolving business priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with procurement, source‑to‑pay (S2P), supplier management or enterprise finance technology platforms.
  • Experience integrating with enterprise procurement or ERP systems such as Coupa, SAP, Oracle, Ariba, Workday or similar platforms.
  • Experience with modern web application frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Familiarity with data warehousing technologies such as Snowflake.
  • Experience with AI concepts like MCP, Agents, RAG and AI coding tools such as Claude Code.
  • Knowledge of event‑driven architecture, messaging systems and distributed applications.
  • Experience utilizing application monitoring, observability and logging platforms.
  • Experience within financial services, asset management or other highly regulated industries.

Compensation & Benefits

Expected annual base salary range: $135,000 – $170,000. Additional compensation and benefits include comprehensive health benefits, paid time off, life insurance, 401(k) plan, discretionary bonuses and, for certain positions, equity and other incentive compensation at Blackstone’s discretion.
