Work Schedule - 3-Day weekend every week!
Monday - Thursday
2:00pm - 12:30am
2nd shift off on Fridays
Job Summary/Overview
This position will produce a variety of flat and formed parts, all of which must meet the dimensional specifications of the engineered drawing. It requires basic understanding of sheet metal fabrication and the ability to operate an Amada Brake Press, Amada laser, manually program and form simple bends and deburr parts. This role will also fill in running the drill press as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Identifies correct material, programs, and dies for the laser and/or brake press per the work order.
  • Perform the set-up of tooling on equipment and retrieve preprogrammed machine instructions, making modifications as necessary.
  • Troubleshoots poor cutting conditions, damaged tools and equipment alarms.
  • Refine processes to improve quality and reduce cycle time.
  • Use both manual and automatic deburring equipment to ensure the part meets the quality standard.
  • Shake out completed parts from the laser and move to next step in the routing.
  • Sort and store raw material using forklift and overhead crane.
  • Communicate with programmers daily.
  • Maintain a safe and clean environment, and perform 5S tasks as required.

Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities
  • A team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and solid blueprint reading skills.
  • Mathematical conversion skills (fractions and decimals) and use of measuring equipment (caliper, tape measure, micrometer, etc.)
  • Ability to deal with ambiguous/undefined problems.
  • Ability to be flexible and adjust priories to reflect changing needs or job demands.
  • Attention to detail.

Required Qualifications
  • 1+ years of experience running similar equipment preferred.
  • Ability to lift/lower/push/pull up to 40 lbs. safely.
  • Valid Drivers License required.

Compensation
$20+ per hour, based on experience
Additional $2/hour shift premium for 2nd shift
