The Associate Engineer will provide consultative technical/analytical and functional support in the area of Contract Administration and Generating Facility Performance for the Power Markets - Power Portfolio group.

GL 25 BS in Engineering 0 to 2 years engineering professional experience. Electric/Gas Utility Plant/Operations/Construction experience

GL 26 BS in Engineering 2 years or more years professional engineering experience; Electric/Gas Utility Plant/Operations/ Construction experience
Staff Engineer
GL 27 BS in Engineering 4 years or more professional engineering experience or demonstrated, sustained performance at a higher level. Electric/Gas Utility Plant/Operations/Construction experience.

Job Responsibilities
Support the evaluation and tracking of capital and O&M budgets for facilities under contract to LIPA Review contracts to identify the key contract rights and obligations, prepare a contract summary, ensure that all Company and Vendor requirements are defined, summarized and scheduled Follow up with contract implementation and monitoring to ensure compliance Develop and maintain process documentation. Interact, communicate and champion process and information transfer to maximize implementation of improvement opportunities Assist the Generation Analysis Manager in identifying and documenting gaps in facility performance and make recommendations for improvement opportunities Analyze data to support contractor/vendor evaluation Provide support and problem resolution to Generation Analysis Manager in coordination with the appropriate partners (Legal-, Procurement, Tax, Enterprise Risk Management, Corporate Properties, Survey & Mapping) Demonstrate teamwork - work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, leading and following as needed
Job Specific Qualifications
Required:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Experience using Microsoft Office Suite- Excel, PowerPoint and Word. Ability to work well with all project stakeholders. Knowledge and experience using SAP (PRs/POs, invoices, budgets, etc.) for project financial management. This position requires driving to company locations and off-site assignments and events, applicants must possess a valid driver's license with a safe and satisfactory driver history. Detail oriented and highly organized
Desired:
Knowledge of Electric and/or Gas Field operations Experience in Power Contract management Experience in utility operations and Communications Experience with MS Project in a business/professional capacity. Business and technical writing experience Advanced degree Experience with software tool applications used by Power Markets Organization (Sharepoint, Smart Sheet, SAP, etc.) Experience and complete understanding of PMI PMBOK fundamentals.
