Job description

T&M Associates is seeking a Senior Staff Designer / Engineer with 4+ years of experience to join one of our New Jersey Offices. This position will be in the MEP Practice with a primary focus on plumbing and fire protection engineering.

Qualifications:

  • Design of plumbing and fire protection systems for buildings. This may include domestic hot and cold water, sanitary and vent, storm drainage, natural and medical gas, compressed air, sprinkler, fire pump, and clean agent fire suppression systems.
  • Preparation of construction documents including calculations, drawings, details, and specifications.
  • Construction administration services such as site visits, construction meetings, review of submittals, and responding to RFI’s.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit required.

Responsible:

  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required.
  • EIT Certification or PE License is preferred, not required.
  • 4+ years prior experience in designing plumbing and fire protection systems.
  • Experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, AutoCAD and Revit required.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of employees, especially Mechanical, Electrical and Structural Engineers.
  • Willing to learn new interesting technical fields.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on several projects at once.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, self-starter, demonstrated organizational skills, and willingness to learn.

T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $90,000 - $115,000. The actual salary offered may vary within this range, depending on a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, educational qualifications, specific skills and knowledge, as well as internal pay equity and geographic location.
