Job description

T&M Associates is seeking a multi-talented Staff Designer 1 to join our Community Development group in New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to learn and grow within the framework of an engineering consulting firm. This position will begin with a strong emphasis on field-based work, including heavy field inspections and site exposure. 

Responsibilities will include civil design activities, field inspection, and report writing for capital and private property development projects. This position will also provide opportunities to assist senior-level engineers with planning and zoning board reviews, municipal design projects, contract documents, estimates, and specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in either Civil Engineering is required.
  • 1-2 years of related experience is preferred. Relevant internship experience can be substituted for experience.
  • Engineer in Training certification is preferred with the goal to obtain a Professional Engineer’s License.
  • Exhibits fluency with computer software/ technology such as AutoCad, Civil 3D, MicroStation, etc. essential.
  • Detail oriented with a strong command of design principles and the ability to develop neat and accurate design calculations.
  • Candidates must be adept at working collaboratively while building strong working relationships with our clients and staff members.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

T&M estimates that the salary range for this position will fall between $74,000 - $80,000.
