Job description

Title: Electronics Engineering Technician
Location: Lockport, IL
Hire Type: Contract to Hire
Salary: $27-$33/hr.

This Electronics Engineering Technician role is a hands-on position supporting testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical test and measurement equipment. You will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure product performance, reliability, and quality while supporting both manufacturing and customer service needs.

Job Duties:
  • Troubleshoot PCB assemblies to the component level using schematics, oscilloscopes, and test equipment.
  • Perform final assembly, testing, and calibration of electrical equipment.
  • Repair, test, and calibrate returned customer units.
  • Maintain production documentation, repair databases, and inventory records.
  • Work independently to complete testing and troubleshooting tasks.
  • Communicate with customers regarding equipment performance and applications.
  • Collaborate with engineering, sales, production, and purchasing teams.
Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in Electronics or related field (or military training).
  • 2+ years of experience reading schematics and troubleshooting electronic systems.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and electronic theory.
  • Experience using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
  • Familiarity with standard manufacturing processes and documentation.
  • Ability to use hand tools; SMT soldering/de-soldering is a plus.
