WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

We're seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. In this role, you'll lead the electrical design and delivery of municipal and utility projects across Texas, helping clients solve complex infrastructure challenges while mentoring the next generation of engineers.

You'll work on a variety of projects involving power distribution systems, pump stations, backup power systems, motor controls, and SCADA-related infrastructure. This position provides the opportunity to serve as a technical leader, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to projects that directly impact the communities we serve.

Once selected to join our team, you will:

  • Lead electrical engineering design for municipal infrastructure projects, including pump stations, power distribution, backup power systems, controls, and SCADA-related systems or other assigned projects.
  • Design and review power distribution systems, generators, motor controls, VFDs, and SCADA-related infrastructure.
  • Coordinate with civil engineers, utilities, contractors, and project stakeholders throughout project delivery.
  • Perform technical reviews and QA/QC of engineering deliverables and subconsultant work.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource forecasting activities.
  • Provide construction-phase support, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and site visits.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through technical excellence and responsiveness.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering systems, including power distribution, generators, backup power systems, motor controls, grounding systems, and related infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of municipal, utility, water, and wastewater infrastructure projects is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with controls, instrumentation, and SCADA systems.
  • Understanding of project delivery processes, permitting requirements, and construction documentation.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office applications.

SKILLS:

  • Ability to lead electrical design efforts from concept through construction.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and engineering judgment skills.
  • Ability to perform quality reviews and ensure technical accuracy of engineering deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 6+ years of electrical engineering experience supporting municipal, utility, infrastructure, or water/wastewater projects.
  • Experience designing electrical systems including power distribution, generators, motor controls, VFDs, and control systems.
  • Experience coordinating with clients, contractors, utilities, and project stakeholders.
  • Experience providing construction-phase support, including RFIs, submittals, and field coordination.
  • Previous experience leading projects, technical tasks, or mentoring junior engineers is preferred.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in the State of Texas.
