ARCO/Murray National is currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our team based in Downers Grove, Illinois. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for guiding the full electrical scope and leading the development of electrical system designs and power solutions in support of design/build projects that will include Entertainment, Agricultural, Multi-Family, Industrial, Commercial, and Mission Critical facilities.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Assist in business development activities by finding solutions to complex projects as part of a client-facing, multi-disciplined in-house engineering team
  • Prepare detailed preliminary electrical designs in pursuit of design/build projects across several project-types
  • Design and specify power systems including load calculations, one and three-line diagrams, equipment sizing and selection, equipment layouts, lighting photometric calculations, fire alarm design, and associated system controls for various projects
  • Provide electrical design direction projects and work with national network of design consultants to help deliver projects
  • Perform arc flash and coordination studies using SKM powertools
  • Play a key role as part of the Power Solutions team delivering turnkey power solutions to our clients
  • Develop industry-leading automated design methods and tools as part of a team of forward-thinking, innovation-focused engineers and R&D staff
  • Assist in the development of Solar, CHP, Micro-grid solutions as part of master power planning for clients
  • Work as an integral part of team procuring building switchgear, generators, UPS, and other power components directly from suppliers
  • Assist in development of electrical pre-fabrication efforts
  • Provide value engineering reviews and alternate design options in order to maximize cost savings and better execute projects
  • Interface with clients, contractors, and vendors on technical issues as electrical expert
  • Participate in budgeting, scheduling, and staff management
  • Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and the employees, while maintaining constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Preferred experience working for a design/build electrical contractor or electrical engineering design consultancy
  • BS in Electrical Engineering
  • Professional Engineer (PE) is preferred; ARCO/Murray will support the pursuit of licensure
  • 4-10 years' of experience
  • BIM experience preferred - Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD
  • Familiarity with electrical engineering software such as ETAP, SKM
  • Experience creating design spreadsheets or coding scripts is a plus
  • Able to organize, plan and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
