Job Description
Help Design Engineers select the right technologies and components for their design. Responsible for preparing and conducting trainings, events, and technical meetings with clients and suppliers. Guide technical direction for product selection, priorities based on suppliers shaping strategy and market situation. Understand customer system design requirements and leverage Arrow's engineering and design services resources to facilitate solutions for customers. Partner with the sales team across pre-sales and post-sales activities, providing detailed technical support and consulting to promote and demand creation. Perform technical analysis and research with customers, sales, other departments (such as engineering services, supplier management, etc.) and suppliers to support customer designs. Manage supplier and customer expectations by building and developing technical and business relationships, keeping stakeholders up to date on activities, plans, and progress towards initiatives. Responsible for utilizing an advanced understanding of the customer needs and technical leadership expertise to champion return on engineering investment, securing design wins that will produce sales. Drive demand creation by maximizing Arrow content on designs with assigned suppliers. Apply technical knowledge to influence designs utilizing solution selling, resources, and strategies. Attend and actively participate in strategic branch meetings, opportunity reviews with suppliers and QBRs. Develop and drive strategic technical plans by supplier line and/or customer solutions.
Minimum Requirements
Requires a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field and 3 years of experience as a Field Applications Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Technical Support Associate Engineer, or related occupation. OR Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field plus 5 years of experience as a Field Applications Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Technical Support Associate Engineer, or related occupation.
Also requires the following skills: 1. Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) semiconductor technology to support the customer design activities with FPGAs; 2. FPGA software development tools and design methodologies that are required to support customer FPGA design activities; 3. Software tools and Integrated Development Environments (IDE) to support Microcontroller designs and FPGA designs; 4. Programming languages VHDL and Embedded C;
5. Microcontrollers, Microprocessors, Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, Wireless technology and Wireless modules; and 6. Development tools including MATLAB, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
Position reports to office in Irvine, CA.
We are offering a salary of $140,088 to $154,097 per year.
