Job Description
An Electrical Hardware Design Engineer position, onsite in Grand Rapids, MI 49512, is currently available through Belcan at one of our key US defense clients. To be considered for this role, you will have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, and five to ten years of experience designing analog and/or digital circuits and corresponding PCB/CCAs. Experience with PCB/CCA schematic capture and board layout as well as CAD mechanical design tools to assess CCA mechanical foot prints and keep outs is strongly preferred. In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting requirements, improving designs based on any system or sub-system level implications and creating new or taking existing designs and developing the PCB/CCA board design artifacts. In addition, you will be designing cables and harness and any other test related artifacts to validate and test designs.

Job Duties:
* Design circuit architectures to support product verification and validation.
* Interpret test requirements and electrical test results.
* Designing and developing Printed Circuit Boards (PCB)
* Use CAD or other PCB design software in preparing PCB assembly and schematic capture.
* Perform schematic capture and PCB board layout.
* Analyze and resolve design related issues in a timely manner.
* Work with design engineers during parts placement and signal routing to ensure PCB design meets all requirements
* Review and recommend improvements to existing designs.
* Work with cross-functional teams to optimize the designs, e.g. mechanical teams to assess board layout, keep outs and assembly hardware.
Required Qualifications:
* Associates, B.S. or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related discipline.
* 7 to 10 years of PCB layout and routing experience using Siemens Mentor Xpedition AND DxDesigner (mandatory)
* 7 to 10 designing high-speed digital and mixed signal PCBs starting from schematic netlists generated by other design engineers
* Experience schematic capture, ces rules, layout, route, drc, dfx, dfm, fabrication files, printed board and printed board assembly drawings, mechanical checks.
* Experienced with board designs with 16+ layers using buried and blind vias.
* Experience with design/development of analog and/or digital circuits
* Experience with design/development of cables and harnesses.
* This position will be located at a facility that requires the selected candidate to be a .

Compensation:
We provide a competitive pay and benefits package. This position is offering a salary rate of $115,000-135,000, however, Belcan considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to education, experience, geographic location, and discipline. Benefits offered may include health care, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); education assistance; paid time off including PTO, holidays, and any other paid leave required by law.
