Job Description:

We are looking for a skilled PLC Programmer who is passionate about automation and control systems. As a PLC Programmer at LJ Inc., you will play a key role in developing, testing, and implementing PLC software solutions to improve our clients' manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform skilled duties related to the design, development, and implementation of PLC control panels.
  • Write from scratch PLC and HMI programs.
  • Program updates and backups for automation processes.
  • Analyze plant processes; design and implement improvements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair PLC issues with hardware and processes.
  • Review control panel fabrication and work with shop personnel, electricians, and electrical apprentices on initial setup.
  • Perform on-site support and assist with system commissioning as needed.
  • Provide direction and leadership to various levels of Electrical apprentices.
  • Accurately read, interpret, and follow blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, electrical symbols, bills of materials, with firm understanding of Ohm's Law, and other written instructions or procedures to service electrical systems and equipment.
  • Understand, adhere to, and promote MIOSHA, OSHA, & MSHA, safety rules & regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems, Industrial Technology, or a related field (experience may be considered in lieu of degree)
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with control systems in heavy industrial or aggregate environments
  • Proficiency in PLC programming, HMI design, and troubleshooting electrical control panels
  • Strong understanding of motor control, VFDs, and field instrumentation
  • Ability to work independently in outdoor and rugged quarry environments
  • Valid driver's license
