Position Summary:

AAA United States, Inc. is seeking skilled Designer – 2D/3D CAD Modeling to support advanced shipbuilding and vessel design projects.


Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for developing 2D and 3D designs used in ship construction and ensuring the accuracy and consistency of design documentation.
  • Review and validate work produced by Drafters and Junior Designers, resolve discrepancies, and provide technical support to production teams.
  • Regular collaboration with project managers, engineers, vendors, and client representatives is critical to meeting project objectives and maintaining schedules.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Associate degree or formal training in CAD design is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of hands-on 3D modeling experience is required, along with at least five to ten years of relevant work experience in shipbuilding, construction, or a similar heavy industrial field.
  • Candidates with experience constructing high-speed aluminum vessels, utilizing modular construction techniques, or working on U.S. Navy projects will be given preference.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills are essential, as is the ability to operate within strict project timelines.
  • Proficiency in 2D and 3D AutoCAD is required, including drawing setup, editing tools, layer management, dimensioning, orthographic view creation from isometric drawings, 3D modeling techniques, and XREF integration to manage multi-disciplinary models without spatial conflicts.
  • Experience working with ShipConstructor software is highly desirable, and familiarity with Navisworks for model review and coordination will be considered an asset.
  • Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, are expected.
