Overview
Job Summary
Provides innovative leadership to maximize the contributions of the Respiratory Therapy Department to the overall hospital performance through effective planning, including human and financial resource management, to result in quality outcomes in line with the goals of the institution. Responsible for assuring hospital compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and accrediting organization standards. Incumbent is accountable for departmental management twenty-four (24) hours per day, seven (7) days per week.
Responsibilities
  • Planning, implementation and marketing of services that meet the needs identified internal and external customers.
  • Operational management of the department including but not limited to hiring, training, supervising, counseling, evaluating, all employees and maintaining regulatory requirements.
  • Financial management of the department including but not limited to capital and operational budgeting, variance analysis and management of resources within financial and productivity standards.
  • Leadership through communicating the BMH vision/values, coaching, monitoring, counseling, and setting of departmental policies and goals.
  • Communication/Interaction with identified internal and external customers.
  • Performs related accountabilities/responsibilities as required or directed.

Minimum Required
  • Five years experience in Respiratory Care to include supervisory experience.

Preferred/Desired
  • Seven years experience in Respiratory Care with three years of management/supervisory experience.

  • Skill and proficiency in Respiratory Care as typically associated with an Associate Degree in Respiratory Care from AMA approved program
